Join Us for our "Hike for the Homeless 2015". We
will be meeting across the street from Hard Rock Cafe in Downtown Dallas
(park at an all day lot). Please bring a donation of any of the
following that will be distributed to the Dallas Homeless during the
hike: Bundle of Socks (new), Gloves, Coat (used or new), Rain Gear (used
We will meet in the courtyard across the street from Hard Rock Cafe
and then take a 4-5 mile hike that will take us through parts of
downtown and through an area where we can deliver the donations to the
homeless. Afterward we may stop by the Iron Cactus or one of the nearby restaurants for a refreshing beverage or a bite to eat.
Note: The group will not be officially meeting at
Hard Rock Cafe this year but you may arrive early to eat at one of the
local restaurants. However, we will be starting the hike at 1PM with no
exceptions. Also, bring what you can carry. We encourage you to collect
from work, church, friends and family but you may want to leave large
donations in your vehicle to drop off after the hike. The more donations
the better! Please feel free to share this event with others but ask
them to RSVP so that we have an accurate count.
PARKING: You should park in a parking lot that is
all day parking, there is parking under the bridge near our meetup
location and on the opposite side of the highway for West End. There is a
parking garage for Hard Rock Cafe just be sure you avoid parking at The
House Condos. The entrance to the HRC garage is on the west side of the
building. I had an issue with the parking receipt when I was there
recently but it was quickly resolved. I am told the first two hours are
free. We cannot wait for anyone to re-park their vehicles this year so
please pay close attention to the towing signs and parking signs and the
hours of parking. Do not park at meters as they will run out before we
return and you may be ticketed. We are not responsible for tickets or
towed cars. Hide all valuables in your car.

My family and I plan to create purple ribbons for participants to
purchase by check for ($10 or $20) made out to "The Bridge" that you can
personally give to a staff member at The Bridge when we arrive. Include
your email address on the memo line.
For those who have family or friends who would like to donate but are
unable to participate in the hike, they can write a check to "The
Bridge" for ($10 or $20) for you to deliver. You will receive a purple
ribbon for each check and can wear it during the hike to later give to
them as a token of appreciation.
