DFWA Lake Lewisville (Kayak/Camp)

Join Us for kayak (or canoe) camping on the beautiful Lake Lewisville just 30 minutes outside of Dallas near the town of Hickory Creek. You should bring your own kayak / canoe, life jacket, food, water and camping gear for this event. It will be primitive camping (island?).

Meet at McDonalds: 8300 S. Stemmons Fwy, Hickory Creek, Texas
Exact Location: N 33 7.785' W 97 2.434'

Participants should bring:
- Cash for park entry / camping ($7-$10 per person).
- No refunds. DFWA Not responsible for fines or property.
- Kayak / Canoe, Life Jacket, Dry Bag, Whistle, Flash Light.
- Camping gear, tent, sleeping bag/pad, food, water, TP, etc.
- Appropriate clothing, insect repellant, sun screen.

Highly Recommended:
- PFD, Whistle, Compass and Small first aid kit.
- 2 way radio w/ NOAA Alerts (Set to channel 5, code 0).

Please no pets on this event for safety reasons.
Minors welcome if avid kayakers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Additional Information:
There are no restrooms at the site, other than "The Tree", bring your own food, steaks, hot dogs and fixins. You should have at least a gallon (or more) of water for drinking. REI Dallas rents kayaks if you do not have your own. Boats will not be provided at the event.

Difficulty (1:Easy - 5:Hard): Rated 2-3 depending on weather.
Length of Event: 5-10 miles by boat, 24 Hours.
Environment: Primitive
Parking: Not monitored, No known issues, At Own Risk.

Only RSVP if you truly feel that you can attend.
Do not re-post to other event boards or sites.
No smoking near other members of group.
Do not attend if you are sick or have health issues.
No radio or recorded music, guitars are welcome!
No photos, videos or tagging of organizer(s).
